Danny Smitherman has studied Owen
Barfield's work closely for ten years. His Bachelor's degree in Education, with
an emphasis in Physical Science as well as in English, led him into teaching
high school science for two years. His interest in the history and
philosophy of science led him into graduate studies in philosophy. His
reading of Barfield's Saving the Appearances led him into studies of Rudolf
Steiner, and together Barfield, Steiner, science and philosophy make up the
areas of main interest in his work. His monograph, Philosophy and the
